Many people visit the store on Friday nights to get some ice cream and listen to the music at the Jamboree or out in the streets. The Floyd Country Store serves Hershey’s ice cream and a variety of sundaes and milkshakes. It’s very popular.
In my opinion, the people who get ice cream there are missing out.
They’re missing out on the Country Creamery, which is only a short walk down the street from the Floyd Country Store. You also don’t have to deal with the long lines of the Country Store.
The Country Creamery is a small shop that serves homemade ice cream. It’s only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but for those three days, you can get some delicious ice cream. They also serve their own sundaes and milkshakes.
The flavors also fit perfectly with their names. The peanut butter had a strong, sweet peanut flavor and the cookie dough tasted exactly like a cookie. They said they don’t just use chunks of cookie dough because they didn’t think it offered enough of the true cookie dough flavor. God bless them.
The peanut butter and cookie dough combination is great for anyone who likes chocolate peanut butter cookies. And if you don’t like chocolate peanut butter cookies, what’s wrong with you?!
The County Creamery is located on the bottom floor of the Winter Sun building. It’s tucked away and not visible from the street, but this place is a hidden gem.
If you’re in Floyd on a weekend and get a craving for some ice cream, I highly recommend passing on the standard Hershey’s ice cream at the Country Store and making your way to Country Creamery.
