On the Hudson
The day before our trip – Priceline saved the day by showing me the rate and location of The Hudson Hotel. It was significantly cheaper than any of the other hotels in Manhattan, the rooms looked nice, and the reviews were generally positive. I was still a little nervous because the price seemed low for a 3.5 star hotel, but we decided to book it and hope for the best.
The location was perfect for us. It put us in the heart of the activity of Manhattan and we were a 5 minute walk from a subway station, 5 minutes from Central Park, and 5 minutes from Times Square. Considering that the other hotels I looked at that were located nearby cost nearly twice as much, our room (and complimentary upgrade) at The Hudson Hotel really felt like a steal. It turned one of the potential worries of my trip into a surprisingly relaxing experience.
