Peppadew Sweet Hot Peppers
Rotisserie Turkey Breast
Red & Green Peppers
Thousand Island Dressing
Meet the Mile High Turkey Sandwich from The Fresh Market. This sandwich has a lot of turkey. A LOT. Each bite requires two hands, plenty of napkins nearby and your full concentration to prevent huge slices of turkey falling into your lap.
Unfortunately, for all its size, this rotisserie sandwich doesn’t have a great deal of flavor. I think it would help if it were toasted. The provolone cheese gets lost in the midst of all the meat and dressing and the texture and flavor would probably stand out more if it was warm enough to melt into the bread. There was also a small error when my sandwich was made because they left off the coleslaw. Without the coleslaw, the only sweetness and creaminess comes from the Thousand Island dressing, which overpowers the other ingredients.
In the end, I felt like I was eating a big pile of turkey covered in thousand island dressing between two pieces of bread.
Considering the other choices that are available at The Fresh Market, I wouldn’t recommend the Mile High Turkey Sandwich. It’s got some work to do before it’s as good as as the Harvest Pork & Brie or the Little Italy Combo.
