Top 3 Tuesdays: Restaurants to try in Roanoke
I’m hardly ever in the Salem area and I forget about Blue Apron but I’ve heard great things and the menu looks amazing. It seems like a restaurant that would have a cool atmosphere and the owners appear to really care about serving creative and flavorful food. I’ve been stalking the menu on their website and saw the “Pan-roasted Black Grouper, creamy mascarpone grits, san marzano tomato butter, brussel sprouts and andouille sausage.” Ummm...I’ll take three, please!
It’s always surprising to me how many restaurants are located in the Grandin Village area of Roanoke. For one neighborhood/community to be able to support so many dining options is quite impressive. I’ve only tried a few of the places in the Grandin area and Rockfish is at the top of my wishlist. Known as a seafood restaurant, I’d love to visit Rockfish for Sunday brunch and try their version of shrimp & grits.
This popular beer and burger restaurant is new to Downtown Roanoke, having recently moved in to the spot on Market Street that used to be Ernie’s. I’m regularly on the hunt for a great burger and the options at Jack Brown’s are very intriguing. The “Greg Brady” is a burger topped with macaroni & cheese and BBQ chips and they also serve a burger with bacon, egg, and cheese on a glazed doughnut! I should probably be grossed out by this concept. Instead, I find myself incredibly excited.
