My Review of Five50 in Las Vegas
Though you can find virtually any type of food at any hour of the day in Las Vegas, there are times when nothing beats a classic like pizza.
After all, pizza is one of the best late-night foods you can eat, and there are plenty of late nights to be enjoyed in Vegas.
During our trip, we were lucky to be staying at the ARIA Resort, which is home to Five50, the place many consider to be the best pizza joint in the city. Even better, it was located directly beside the one section of the casino I was interested in - the Sports Book.
If you’re not interested in eating in the Sports Book, Five50 also has a dining room with waiter service or a to-go counter so you can take your slices wherever. I’m not asking where you’re going. It’s Vegas. It’s your secret.
After a late-night of going to a show, we headed to Five50 for a couple slices of pizza. We had already eaten dinner earlier in the evening, so Five50 ended up being the perfect place for a snack.
I had a slice of margherita pizza and it really hit the spot.
It was a thin slice with a crust that was nicely charred and topped with huge chunks of fresh mozzarella and basil. The cheese melted beautifully and provided a strong, rich flavor.
The crust fell into the difficult-to-reach category of crisp, but still light enough to be able to fold the slice.
Were it not for the previously mentioned pre-show dinner, I would have easily put away three slices from Five50.
And if you’re in Vegas with a craving for pizza, I give this spot two thumbs up.
