I’m not from Philadelphia. Actually, I’ve never even been to Philly. It doesn’t matter. Philly cheesesteaks and I were meant to be together.
My ideal cheesesteak always includes tender steak, real cheese (no Cheese Whiz - get out of here with that stuff! You’re disgusting!), peppers, onions and mushrooms.
It used to be one of my go-to meals after spending an afternoon playing tennis. Spend three hours playing tennis in the summer and you’ll have no trouble putting away a couple cheesesteaks. I may not play tennis anymore, but that hasn’t affected my love of this delicious sub.
Did you know that the Philadelphia Cheesesteak is the special for the month of February at Penn Station East Coast Subs?
I’ve written before about the arrival of Penn Station East Coast Subs to the Roanoke Valley, and I’m always excited when a restaurant features cheesesteaks on the menu.
Penn Station’s classic combination of grilled-to-order 100% U.S.D.A. choice steak and melted provolone cheese is just the beginning. From there, a selection of delicious toppings such as sautéed onions, fresh mushrooms, banana peppers, spicy brown mustard, mayonnaise or pizza sauce are available.. Pair it with fresh-cut fries and fresh-squeezed lemonade and you’ll have a signature Penn Station meal.
I’m not playing about the fresh-cut fries. They’re awesome. Pair them with your cheesesteak or we can’t be friends anymore.
Now, I happen to have a $20 gift certificate to Penn Station East Coast Subs that I will be giving away to one lucky winner.
This is your chance to win a gift certificate so you can try your own Penn Station signature meal!
Just tell me how you order your sub (Philadelphia Cheesesteak or your other favorite sub) in the comments section and you will be entered into a random drawing.
Comment by February 26, 2014 to be entered to win.
*Penn Station East Coast Subs provided the gift certificate for this giveaway.
