Top 3 Tuesday - 2013 NBA Offseason
1. Andre Iguodala to Golden State
Andre Iguodala is one of the most underrated players in the NBA. He doesn’t get a ton of attention because he’s not a big scorer, but people who understand basketball know what an outstanding player he is. He’s an athletic wing who can provide experience and leadership for a young team in Golden State and he’s one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Iguodala’s style of play should be a great fit with Stephen Curry and David Lee because he’s an excellent complimentary player that you don’t have to build around in order for him to succeed.
2. Paul Millsap to Atlanta
Hawks general manager Danny Ferry has a difficult rebuilding job in Atlanta but he’s done a nice job so far, ridding the team of Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams while also letting Josh Smith move on to Detroit. They still have a long way to go, but the signing of Paul Millsap gives the Hawks an impressive post presence as he can pair with Al Horford. Horford and Millsap are two guys that don’t need the spotlight but they consistently produce. Millsap has been one of the best rebounders in the game during his NBA career, which is something Atlanta badly needs. He might not be someone who gets fans excited, but he’ll definitely help the organization win games.
3. J.J. Redick & Jared Dudley to the Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers have some great pieces in Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan. However, with an offense that relies on so much pick-and-roll, Los Angeles needed to find some outside shooting to help space the floor. Acquiring J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley now gives the Clippers two of the better perimeter shooters in the league, which makes their offense that much more dangerous. Dudley and Redick are also underrated defenders who should fit in great with Doc Rivers.
